Einzigart is a treasure trove of gorgeous things you never knew you needed. I regularly get lost in there, which is easy to do as the store covers a few floors with lots of nooks and crannies in between. Even when it’s busy (which is quite often), you can find a little artfully lit corner all for yourself.

It’s hard to define exactly what is sold in Einzigart. The emphasis here seems to be more on the story of a product than the actual product itself. They also support local designers and artists, and as you wander through, they have little cards telling you about the product and where it’s from.

My favourite things I’ve picked up here include Swiss designed sunglasses, a beautiful hand woven baby blanket, ’00’ pasta flour and a set of pottery serving bowls. If you are looking for a thoughtful, ethical present for someone special, you will definitely find it here.
