This shop is just too beautiful for words, which is ironic because their products are designed for the exact purpose of writing or storing words. Or pictures. You may have guessed by now that I’m talking about what I consider to be Zurich’s most beguiling stationery shop.
Fabrikat is one of those places bibliophiles and artists of every variety could easily end up bankrupting themselves in. From ornate pencils and one-of-a-kind desk companions to the pencils you spent your childhood taking for granted – this shop has it all. And they know it. But they’re not smug and that’s why it’s a joy to wander around and peruse their goods, all the while hoping that it’s not too late to run out and buy this week’s lottery ticket.
The shop shares a space with The Trace Gallery, which the founders describe as “a place for the subcultural, the unfamiliar, the obsessive”.
So whether you’re in need of utensils for your next project, a gift, a chat with one of the lovely ladies behind the counter or a jolt of inspiration, this one address has you covered.
