Whether you want a seaside feeling in summer, or a mountain hut feeling in winter, Fischer’s Fritz is the only answer. This restaurant is part of the Fischers Fritz campsite, but feels more like a beach bar in Barcelona than a snack bar next to a load of tents. They also have a lovely, cozy, indoor restaurant, which is perfect for the chillier months.
In the summer, you can sit outside on the bleached tables and chairs next to the lake and soak up the rays. Indulge in fresh fish from the Zürich lake (sushi too). I love the ‘fisch knusperli’ salad, with battered, fried egli fish, salad and tangy tartare sauce (and a glass of chilled, dry rosé)! They also do a champagne brunch buffet on Sundays which is supposed to be epic.
In winter, I love to book a table inside and indulge in some delicious, cheesy fondue, washed down with a traditional, Swiss white.
The service is friendly but not particularly speedy, so be patient, relax and enjoy the atmosphere…
