Kobal – Southern Indian yum

My intention was to take a picture of my curry to post alongside my review. My curry arrived, I tucked in and halfway through I gasped, realising I had forgotten to take the picture. In a way, it’s the ideal way to get across just how irresistible the curry is and, luckily, I go regularly so another photo op will present itself in due course. EDIT: I’ve been plenty of times since I wrote the article and still haven’t managed to stop myself from tucking in immediately.

I’m half British. What does that mean? It means garam masala and turmeric have been coursing through my veins since I was a wee bub. So I make regular pilgrimages to this curry house to ensure I don’t end up passing out from lack of spice in my blood.

For about CHF 25 you can not only ensure you’ll struggle to even contemplate the thought of consuming more food for the next 24 hours, your taste buds will be dancing in tune to the Bollywood jingles shown on the TV after the first bite.

One word of warning – the place is tiny, so you might want to book. Actually, here’s another: you might find that the proximity of Kobal to numerous bars means that you end up rolling home with a belly full of curry and ten beers under your belt. Here’s the silver lining though: the curry will counter the hangover.
