About me
I moved to Zurich in 1999 and was at first a little bit overwhelmed by its size. I’m aware that it’s small in comparison to many other cities in Europe but it felt huge at the time. A few months later I left for Amsterdam, where I lived for almost two years.

Although I enjoyed my time in Amsterdam a lot, I fell head over heels for Zurich when I returned to Switzerland. Zurich and I, we just click. I find it pretty and wild, sparkly and dull, straightforward and mysterious at the same time. On the surface it seems like any town but underneath it has a lot to offer.

Why Zurich?

  • There is always something going on
  • It’s easy to discover the city on foot or by bike
  • It contains a good mix of culture, nightlife and outdoor life
  • The rivers and the lake make it the perfect summer spot
  • Multicultural, not just in regards to nationalities but also in regards to interests and lifestyles
  • The best techno DJs
  • Great public transport
  • It’s very safe

My tips will bring you to the Zurich I like. I introduce you to small, partly alternative, partly trendy bars with a familiar atmosphere and outdoor spaces such as swimming areas along the river, open-air bars and parks.

Additionally, I also show you where you can find local designers (fashion, furniture, jewellery and accessories) as Zurich has one of the highest densities of ateliers in Europe.
