Statzione Paradiso is a popular café and bar nestled on a bike path alongside the Limmat river. This place is special for loads of reasons. Built in an old train, you can sit in the train, on the train or out the front. This is a great place for a drink on a sunny day, but if you make it that far, you may as well sample one of their sandwiches or pizza slices.
Paradiso is known as the heartland of sourdough. They bake all of their bread on site and fill it or top it with the best ingredients around. My husband reckons that their pastrami focaccia deserves the title of “best sandwich in Zürich”, and he could be right!
In the winter, they open for Friday Tavolata, which is well worth a visit.
Make sure to bring cash, as they don’t take card, and the closest bank machine is a fair walk away.
