I could write a book about all the adventures Pacific Parc has granted me since I moved to Amsterdam. Almost every evening spent there was memorable, whether because I met someone new, I danced like a freak, or I saw a band that set the place on fire. Or perhaps everything at the same time. Pacific is good at everything-at-the-same-time, as it keeps transforming throughout the day: cafe, restaurant, bar, nightclub and concert venue. The only thing you can’t do is sleep over. For the rest, everything is possible.
During the day we have the Pacific where families, friends and old-colleagues catch-up over a meal, a coffee or a beer. During the warm season, this can take place under the sun as the venue extends to the terrace which is spacious and overlooks the greenery of the Westerpark. Food is very recommendable there; the only thing is you might have to be a bit patient with the service.
But here’s this: from Thursday to Saturday evening, Parc takes over. The party starts after dinner: tables get pushed to the side, DJs set the turntables on, and the dance floor is ours. The musical menu ranges from between old-school rock’n’roll & punk, funk & more tropical rhythms, with emerging bands taking over the stage close to midnight. Expect no mercy: the music is usually loud and hard. Parc doesn’t compromise. But the reward is worth it: unexpected encounters, spontaneous dances, and hilarious situations. All in one place.
