There’s something magical about starting the day with a walk near 28 Panfilov Park in Almaty. I do this almost every morning, and no matter how busy life gets, this small ritual always lifts my mood. Especially in summer, when the heat climbs to +40°C, the park becomes a true lifesaver. The morning grass is freshly watered, and there’s this crisp scent in the air that feels like a breath of calm.
What I love most is that it’s more than just a green space — it’s surrounded by so much life. You’ll find people walking their dogs, jogging, or just soaking up the stillness. By midday, the benches are dotted with picnickers and families resting in the shade.
But the real charm is in what’s nearby. The iconic Ascension Cathedral and the Eternal Flame are must-see landmarks, but there’s also the Kazakh Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, the experimental Artishok Theatre, and my personal favorite: EverJazz, a cozy live music venue with great evening concerts. And if you’re hungry, you’re in luck— there are lovely cafes all around.
