Bakers & Roasters Amsterdam

Bakers & Roasters – Breakfast for champions!

In the Netherlands we don’t have a big ‘going-out-for-breakfast culture’ but as most of the hotels here will probably serve the same English breakfast buffet with an additional fruit and yogurt station as they would anywhere, you will probably need one. Just like I sometimes need a proper breakfast or just a place for a Sunday brunch date. The place to go? Bakers and Roasters!

The two main ingredients of Bakers and Roasters are really good (and strong) coffee and organic free range eggs that you can get fried, scrambled but preferably poached! You can make your own choice if you want the eggs as part of a dish with salmon and hollandaise sauce, a spicy huevos rancheros dish or, my favorite, the Navajo eggs with pulled pork, mango salsa, avocado and chipotle cream.

Yes, on the menu there are things like porridge, granola and fruit bowls, and if you feel like sharing, you can put a plate of pancakes with maple syrup in the middle… But believe me, it is all about the eggs and the coffee… breakfast doesn’t get any better than that!
