I like to cook, on Saturday I like to get groceries from the better supermarkets and spend a big part of the day in the kitchen with friends and enjoy the evening together with a glass of wine. Unfortunately, those days don’t happen that often and I find myself only having an hour or two to have dinner. I realise I’m blessed with those hours as a lot of people need to squeeze in the evening meal in less than that but like I said, I like to spend time in the kitchen.
When Bilder & De Clercq first opened it’s like they listened to the unspoken prayers of people like me. The concept is simple. The chefs of Bilder & De Clercq think of a 2-person meal, write down the recipe and provide all the ingredients needed for a reasonable price. Examples are: pasta with ricotta and garlic, hotdogs with tomato salsa and sweet potatoes, fish pie, pumpkin soup or roasted summer fruit. Good thing is, it’s not like you don’t have to do anything at home. All you get is a recipe and ingredients, ready to start the cooking.
Their concept fits in the busy life of the working people in Amsterdam and is a solution when your mind is completely blank on what to eat for dinner. On weekdays or a Saturday, it’s Bilder & de Clercq where you can find me shopping for dinner.
