Not so long ago, the Czaar Peterstraat was elected as best shopping street of The Netherlands. Although at first sight it doesn’t really look like it, the Czaar Peterstraat has quite a bit to offer. It all started when some of the shop owners united and started to connect all the small, boutique-like shops by using similar store signs. These well-designed signs give the shops a vintage, small business feel.
Besides the unity, there are quite a few high-end stores to be found at the Czaar Peterstraat. A small selection: Fromagerie Kef (check my Fromagerie Abraham Kef article), the one and only peanut butter store in the country (with great, surprising flavors) and a very nice sausage shop (Worscht). Oh, and a restaurant which only uses supermarket ingredients that otherwise would’ve been thrown away. And that’s just the beginning.
Interested already? There are a few more shopping spaces available, so the street will probably only get better and better. Czaar Peterstraat, not your average shopping street.
