One thing Amsterdam has been missing for years is good street food (it’s changing) but it’s either a supermarket-bought snack, a take away bagel or sandwich, or a lunch or dinner at a restaurant. Happyhappyjoyjoy is trying to change this scene with their Asian Street food restaurant. Because if it’s one thing Asia is known for, it’s their streetfood.
At happyhappyjoyjoy you can try one of many Asian styles of street food. Chinese dumplings (from Oriental Kitchen, so tastiness is guaranteed), Vietnamese pho, a great pad Thai and Asian inspired salads. It’s possible to have dinner here and choose many different dishes but I think street food should remain street food so I pick a maximum of 2 and usually take away. The restaurant looks great but somehow feels a bit posh, a weird feeling since most street food is not. Flavours do compensate and really take you to the far East.
Technically it’s not really street food and it is a bit posh, but the flavours are great and includes a trip to Asia in your trip to Amsterdam.
