Without my cat-loving boyfriend, I would’ve never had any reason to visit this place, but boy am I glad I did!
The concept is simple: people pay a small entrance fee and choose a time slot for their visit. In return the cafe is open for all who love to be surrounded by one of the seven permanent furry residents, while enjoying a wide selection of coffee, tea, breakfast, lunch, and homemade sweets. Thanks to the maximum number of guests that can attend this cat-heaven per time slot, these superstars are comfortable enough to accompany people from up close during their stay.
Even though I have not been able to visit it yet, the ‘Poezenboot’ offers the same experience but is located on a boat in the Amsterdam canals and is next to an animal shelter. Finally, cat lovers can head to the ‘Kattenkabinet’ that houses an art museum in the city centre devoted entirely to cats. The collection includes paintings, drawing, sculptures and other works of cat art. Yet to be explored!
