Lion Noir Amsterdam

Lion Noir – Crazy professor’s dining room

While I was basically looking for a cool place to eat in the center of Amsterdam with a fireplace (because I find that very nice and cosy during the winter; not to mention WARM), I stumbled upon a tip to go to Lion Noir. And what a treat it was!

It is a bit decadent but in a way it’s still comfortable enough to feel at home. The interior can best be described as a bunch of oddities, such as set up animals and old weapons in a stylish and kind of royal (brown, gold, emerald green) interior. Both floors have plenty of tables to sit at and downstairs you can find a lovely fireplace with brown chairs.

The food is YUM. Oysters, duck liver, french desserts with a twist. The portions aren’t too big portions, but they have the right amount of taste! It’s a little higher in price, but you get a wonderful evening with nice staff, which is perfect to celebrate a special occasion in.
