1969 was the year that the first human set foot on the moon. But since 2016, you don’t need a spaceship anymore; all you have to do is book a table. A trip to restaurant Moon remains nothing short of special, though. At almost 100 meters above ground, this revolving restaurant serves its fine dining dishes with a side of the most spectacular views of Amsterdam. No fear of heights, I hope?

Even the elevator ride to the 19th floor of the A’DAM Toren is spectacular. But once the doors open and you find yourself surrounded by the 360-degree view of the city, you know this is going to be a special night. The sober interior gives all the credit to what happens on the outside of the windows. In about 70 minutes, the restaurant makes a perfect circle. And yes, it’s okay to stare out the window here. But it’s not only this view that makes Moon a place for special celebrations. The menu by famous signature chef Jaimie van Heije does as well.

Choose the ‘full moon’ menu and you get 7 courses of modern seasonal dishes that together form a stellar fine dining experience unlike any other. And with an in-house sommelier, there’s always the perfect wine to complement your dish. The dessert is always inspired by a musical guest chef who answered the question: ‘how do you think the moon tastes?’ Well, I can tell you… it tastes out of this world.
