Whenever I am in France I always visit a patisserie because of all the delicious and very fine products that are on display. The temptation alone is not enough and I buy some fine patisserie to enjoy at home with a cup of tea or coffee. So when I bumped into My Little Patisserie at the Eerste van der Helststraat, a Parisian style bakery that specializes in patisserie with cream, I was pleasantly surprised and feeling happy at the same time.
Audrey is a very elegant French woman from Paris who moved to Amsterdam for work. After she quit her job she returned to Paris and learned how to make patisserie. And lucky enough for you and me she returned to Amsterdam because of her boyfriend and started My Little Patisserie. And thank heavens for that because this is going to be my favorite patisserie!
The patisseries can be ordered per piece or by the box of 4, 6 or 12 pieces. The eclairs, choquettes and mille-feuilles are my favorites. And ask for the lemon meringue tart or the “Il etait une fois” (vanilla and rose cream with raspberries and madeleine biscuit)! Mouthwatering.
Of course there are several varieties of tea, coffee and organic juices available, so you can stay in this fine little shop and watch Audrey at work. Everything is handmade and made fresh daily. The story of a Parisienne that came to Amsterdam to make patisserie is a film script starring Juliette Binoche! A très bientôt!
