This is a cozy brunch cafe in Amsterdam Old South. I really like that they serve something different than the regular dishes you find in brunch places.
The menu consists of a surprising variety of Taiwanese snacks and fresh cuisine with a Japanese influence. For example, you can start off your day with the ‘Green Day’: matcha flavored yoghurt, granola, red bean paste and fresh fruit. Or try the ‘Swim Rice Sandwich’: tuna with Japanese sesame sauce, black olives, apples, rice, seaweed, egg rolls and edamame salad.
I ordered the ‘U-ji-kin-tok’: matcha hot cake, sweet red bean, strawberry and matcha ice cream, which turned out to be a huge success! According to their website the dishes represent the vibrant food culture of Taiwan, which the owners use to try to introduce elements of this culture in Amsterdam.
The place can also be used as a comfortable workplace, as there is fast internet connection, enough electrical outlets, and good coffee. The sloth in the logo therefore also stands for a relaxing and exotic atmosphere created in the cafe.
