Instagram experience, interactive playground, experience museum… a new vocabulary taught to us by the year 2019/2020. You can see these experiences pop up around the world. Visitors are guided through these crazy colorful rooms where they can click away to create the coolest Instagram posts for their feed. Although the newest addition to this category, The Upside Down Amsterdam, is definitely Instagrammable, it also teaches you some awesome facts about the Dutch – thus making it the perfect place for the millennial tourist who wants that flawless feed but also to do something cultural – and conveniently cool.

At The Upside Down, your world is quite literally turned upside down. Some of the rooms have their elaborate furnishings stuck to the ceiling, giving you the opportunity to unleash your creativity and create some cool optical illusions, whereas other rooms are just a crazy bunch of experiences, like a massive color-changing ball pit, an under-the-sea-room or the walk-in closet of your dreams filled with Dutch design. However, all rooms have something in common. They teach you a little bit more about Dutch culture in a creative and playful way. The signs in every room will state some fun facts to match the experiences – learning has never been this much fun!

So, want to do something cultural on your visit to Amsterdam? Swap the boring museum for a feed filled with awesomeness and some fun facts about the Dutch. Oh, and don’t forget to stop by the café for some colorful snacks!
