As you’ve probably got from the name, this is a coffee bar in a former butcher shop. You can still feel the old shop in the interior, like the old white tiles they left on the wall and the way you seem to walk into the old freezer room when you go to the back.
Enough about the interior; let me talk to you about the coffee. It’s amazing! Brewed to perfection. Espresso, cappuccino, Flat White (my favorite), and a wonderful cold brew. And the food. OMG the FOOD! They have 7 or 8 choices on the menu and a daily special. And they are all superb. Veggie & vegan options available! I love the butcher’s brekky and the pancakes, but what I love even more is eating these dishes on the terrace outside.
Although you’re on an open square surrounded by an almost permanent traffic jam, it’s one of the loveliest terraces in the city. You can take my word for it. Or that of the +/- 15 people on the waiting list in front of you on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
Just go up to the front door, and ask one of the waiters to put your name on the window. Seat yourself on the benches and wait for your name to be called. What I like to do is already get a coffee at the bar to drink while I’m waiting outside.
Really, it may be a bit ‘off center’, but this coffee spot is a must try!
