Cabo Verde is one of those places that does extremely well at catapulting you to a place where you feel like you’re on vacation. The restaurant serves traditional Portuguese food. I’ve never been to Portugal or Cabo Verde, but everyone that has says this place couldn’t generate a more similar feeling to the real thing. Everything is very authentic. The tables, chairs, the colors! A bright decor with a lot of photographs of places in Cabo Verde and Portugal.
Cabo Verde first opened 15 years ago and has maintained its originality and feeling. Don’t expect anything trendy. The restaurant is family owned and managed by the members, which gives you a feeling of appreciation for this place.
The reasons you’ll love this place have everything to do with its simplicity and welcoming, colorful environment. The food is delicious. Especially good for traditional types who can’t be impressed by small detail-decorated portions. Starting off with a caipirinha, delicious and fresh, will open your appetite. Next you can choose from the various meat and fish dishes, paellas or other traditional preparations. The mixed fish dish is very generous as much as it is delicious.
The best time to go is of course during the weekends, but most of the nights they have live music for guests to enjoy their dinner in a very festive atmosphere. In the summer you can sit outside to enjoy the sunny terrace.
