This shop used to be located near my college. So every time my friends and I skipped class, you could find us here. I can honestly say this is where my coffee addiction started.
Eventually they moved to a bigger venue, and the crowd just came along.
Rob, the owner, started Caffènation with 30 different coffee combo’s, tea, hot chocolate, and egg salad sandwiches. He has always focused on quality and origin, and turned that up a notch when he started roasting his own beans and making his own blends. He got the attention of other coffee bars and now delivers his coffee to over 50 other venues in Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels and in The Netherlands.
They focus mostly on the ‘real’ coffees, but, as you can see on the picture, when ‘Malteser crunch covered whipped cream mountain’ is your thing, you still have a great pick. My favorite? An Iced Black: filter coffee served over ice with a twist.
Or get a ‘coffee subscription’ via the website. You will get a different roast in your mailbox every week with instructions on how to make the perfect coffee with those beans.
Last but not least, they offer coffee workshops. They love to share their knowledge and will teach you everything from bean to cup. In the more advanced classes they will teach you some latte art and how to use an aeropress.
Definitely worth a visit!
