I love to go to ‘Goesting’ during lunchtime (I work 2 minutes from this little restaurant), like many of my other colleagues. The owners (a couple) are always heartily welcoming you into their secret Antwerp restaurant ‘Goesting’ (the word ‘goesting’ is ‘appetite for’ in Dutch). Notice the art on the walls. Local artists can expose their work here and you can buy it.
Are you in a hurry? No problem, order the soup and you will be fulfilled in no time.
Personal tip: I prefer their surprising soups, accompanied by ‘njummy’ bread. If you can’t choose which soup, order the trio.
Nice to know: gluten intolerant? Ask for the gluten-free bread.
Location tip: you are not far away from the red light district and ‘t Eilandje, with the impressive MAS-museum (check the MAS article).
The square used to be an ‘underground’ place, where illegal items were traded. Ten years ago, the city invested in this neighbourhood and the area has since been cleaned up.
They have quite some space inside. If you pass the bar at the end, they have a extra room where you can try their delicious food. Also good for large groups.
