No, this is not your typical snackbar. No, it’s not all fancy or cool. Yes, it is named after the former queen of Belgium. No, she has nothing in common with the snack you can eat here. No, this place is not easy to find. No, I have no idea why I like this place, but I honestly do!
Everybody I know loves to eat that famous sandwich with ham and cheese called “croque monsieur”. I am sure some of you know a few variations like “croque madam” which has an egg on top. But do you know more than 50 variations? Welcome to “Fabiola”, where they have all the croque variations you can think of. You can even combine the ingredients to make your own crazy croque, but I am sure you will find something tasty on their menu as well.
I don’t have a favorite croque though, cause I keep finding new things to try out. However, the Italian croque (with pesto and mozzarella) is fingerlickin’ good. They also have one with goat cheese and honey, which is amazing!
The interior is full of pictures, plates and cookie boxes having a picture of the early Belgian queen Fabiola. So if you are a royalty lover, you should visit anyhow. Yet, the quality of the food, the kind service and the simplicity of the snackbar will make everyone feel at home.
