Maurice isn’t your regular grandpa. No sir! Maurice is the coffee concept store that mixes two cozy things: coffee + knitting.
Rest assured the coffee is, in my humble opinion, absolutely heaven sent. By heaven sent I mean it gets roasted in Ghent but prepared with great care by Maurice.
The bar gets its name from a peculiar character, grandpa Maurice who, so goes the legend, started every day by standing on his head (that’s a conversation starter right there). He also was the grandfather and muse of Véronique, the young founder of the bar and also designer of Maurice knitwear. Every piece of Maurice Knitwear is totally unique and handmade. Furthermore they look splendid, cozy and have a high cuddle factor!
If knitting is your jam, you’ll find lots of books and materials to go nuts on the wool here. You’ll also find cozy warm and fashionable sweaters, scarves, hoods… etc. You’d like to try out knitting as stress-therapy? No problem! Maurice has workshops to achieve all your furry-ambitions.
The décor of the concept coffee bar is uttermost charming, with different models of vintage pieces.
If you’re not a coffee fan, or don’t want to go over your third cup of the day, not to worry! They have the most gorgeous flourishing cups of teas, which are wearing… You ready? knitted scarfs! Yes, Maurice wouldn’t want you to burn your fingers, but I can’t promise you won’t lick them if you try the cakes.
