In the last few years, Antwerp has tried to revive the old city center around the city hall, after years of weird-looking bars, dodgy restaurants and noisy karaoke clubs. All initiatives have paid off and now there are many new places to eat and drink. One of these trendy looking places is Murni (called ‘Backyard’ before). It had one of the best reviews I had seen for a bistro on the Internet, which is part of the reason I paid it a visit the first time – the taste, the lovely interior, the great outside and the amazing drinks are the reason why I come back every time. It’s also right in the middle of the city centre between all the tourist traps (if any). In the back, there is a cool backyard for summer times.
If you like your gin, you should surely visit the Murni. They have the widest choice of gin in Antwerp (52 sorts to be exact). Having lunch, drinking a gin (& tonic) and enjoying dinner in the same place has never been this fun (and it would surely not be my first time either).
They also have another floor for private parties and drinks with a view on the old town square.
