Ashgabat local? Help us start a blog for your city!

Archabil District, Ashgabat (by Dovlet Madatov)

One of the next city guides we would like to launch as part of our fight against overtourism is Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan!

Unfortunately, to most travelers, Ashgabat (and Turkmenistan in general) is either surrounded by misconceptions or a complete mystery, which is a shame because it has a lot to offer. We know that there is plenty to love about Ashgabat, and we need your help to prove this to the rest of the world!

Yyldyz Hotel, Ashgabat

Ashgabat is unique, in terms of architecture, culture, and so much more. Most people, however, only know of the Wedding Palace, and perhaps a few of its great mosques and museums. But there is so much more to it, so much beauty that is currently a secret from non-locals. So we need people like you, to tell stories of your experiences within this fascinating city, to reveal the wonders of Ashgabat to the world.

So what is it like to experience Ashgabat like a local? Where can you get the best coffee or local pilav? Where do locals relax or celebrate? This is what we and many travelers want to know!

Are you an Ashgabat loving local?

We aim to show visitors (and locals!) the real culture of Ashgabat beyond the tourist highlights. We are looking for locals who’d like to share their passion and spread the word about Ashgabat by blogging about their favorite spots. Browse around our current 80+ city blogs and learn more about our amazing community & vision!
