Margaro Athens

Margaro fish restaurant is one of the most important constant values of Piraeus gastronomy. It has been located in the same place, next to the Naval Academy, since 1944.

Forget gastronomic excesses! No octopus here, not even French fries. At Margaro, you can taste the tastiest shrimp in the whole city! THE TASTIEST! Apart from shrimp, you can only order Greek salad and fried "koutsomoures" - a kind of fish. Simplicity can be really delicious sometimes.

Margaro is located very close to the sea in the Chatzikyriakeio area and is ideal for a Sunday walk! Be patient, as you have to wait a bit in order to find a place to sit, as it is always overcrowded!

A useful tip: if you want to use a means of transportation other than a taxi, take the train to Piraeus station, and ask for the stop of bus 904. Ask the driver to tell you where to stop for Naval Academy ("sxoli naftikon dokimon"), and go for it!
