I discovered “Motosako” some months ago through some friends that live in the area. It’s one of these places that you could easily discover in any corner of Europe! It’s a small restaurant with lots and lots of character, small and cozy.
During summertime it also has some tables outside where you can sit with your group, but the real value for me is the interior of this place. The walls are decorated with photos of old bikes. It’s actually what the name of the place stands for. A specific type of bike that was popular in the 70s and early 80s that you could power both by pedaling and with fuel.
A huge blackboard on the wall shows all the available dishes and prices, which are really, really good by the way, especially compared to the quality of the food that you receive. I would kill to get my hands on their amazing “Loukoumades with feta and honey” and I also really liked all the different ways in which they prepared the different meats they have.
How can you get there? You should just take the green line from Monastiraki, all the way to “Eleftherios Venizelos – Tavros”. Once you reach the station, you should get off from the other side than the one you reached the station on and walk some 100m down the road. If you ask around, it’s easy to find! Enjoy!
