Kostas est. 1950 is one of those places that need little describing, as the actual experience of eating there can make up for any description I could think of. I saw this place a long time ago and I just “recorded” it in my mind. A couple of months ago, a couple of tourists from the US asked me to recommend a place to have their last souvlaki before heading back to the States. I remembered the place and sent them there, saying that I had not tried it myself but it’s supposed to be good. They came back, delighted, with smiles on their faces, informing me that they ate three souvlakia each!
This is the kind of place where you eat the souvlaki in one way, not stuffed with all the potatoes and extras, but the classical way. Meat, tzatziki, tomato, onions and some parsley. There is no room for improvisation here, but there’s no reason for it either!
I tried it myself and I can say with certainty that this is one of the best I’ve had for a long time. I admit that they are small, but that’s better cause you can eat more!
