It can be hard to find the wine you like at a price you can afford. Fortunately, I have discovered Okka, a wine store in Athens where the staff has the expertise and the will to guide you through its wide variety of Greek wines. Moreover, most wines are unbottled, and thus way cheaper, but still the quality is high.
Every visit to this shop is like a journey to the distilleries of Greece. Whenever I go there, I explain the occasion for the wine or the dish that I am going to cook and they offer me to try all possible choices. At the end of my visit, I leave a little bit tipsy, but equipped with the perfect wine.
Apart from wines, you can find beers and other local distillates, like raki and tsipouro. I highly recommend trying tsipouro from Tzoumerka and the bio cabernet-merlot from Tyrnavos. However, varieties change regularly, as they come in small amounts so that they can keep it fresh.
This spot is great for Greek wine discovery, for getting a special gift to somebody and for those who are making an effort to go zero waste!
Famous for its vegan options and Ukrainian dishes like piroshki and borscht soup, 67 is also a very relaxed and friendly spot for studying or working.
