To Plateiaki Mas – Our little square

This is the definition of a local place! Not far from Saites, this small souvlaki restaurant has a great history, or better yet, its owner does! Makis Dreliozis was a really talented basketball player for the local team of Panionios BC. Makis was the first Greek that took advantage of the Bosman law to go abroad and play for the Italian team Forli. He wrote his own chapter in the history of Greek Basketball and recently retired to open his own restaurant along with his brother, and it’s been packed ever since!

In this cozy little place you will find seating outdoors and indoors, in a nicely decorated place, on the corner of a small square where you will literally find no tourists! It’s as local as it gets, quiet and peaceful. The prices are more than fair and the quantity of the food is mythical!

Check out the Panionios BC banners on the wall and say hi to Makis. He will be the only guy above 2m tall in the place. Try the souvlaki with any kind of meat you like and also their homemade french fries with tomato sauce and cheese on top! Heaven! My last passion is a platter they call “mountain” or “half-mountain” which is actually a large pile of meat! Have to have it!
