As soon as Arigato opened its doors in Barcelona, by looking at the first pictures, videos and the type of stuff these guys were doing, I already had a feeling it would be another place that I would go and recommend to others.
Sebastián Mazzola (Argentinian) and Sussie Villarico (Dutch/Japanese) have decided to open this locale that gathers together an ice cream workshop, restaurant and cafe. And we cannot forget the wine and sake selection (Sussie is a sommelier and both of them have a great previous background in gastronomy).
The service is great, the place is well decorated, as it has a part of the kitchen open when the chefs prepare the dishes to take to the table. The ice cream space is next to the door as you enter, so you can have an idea of what is about to come for dessert.
We ordered dumplings soup (delicious), their truffe udon (with loaaaads of truffle btw), and their pancake of slightly fermented eggs on the top! They also had great natural white wine – very fruity and pleasant.
One of their “off the menu” dessert options was a kombucha base ice cream, coconut, pineapple and hazelnut caramel. Mind-blowing!
Finally, NOMAD specialty coffee espresso to finish and… when are we going again???
