Tucked right into the centre of El Raval, this bar really offers so much more than the average. I often come here during the week because for me it’s one of the best places to chill out in the city, not so much for mad nights but rather for relaxed ones.
In the front you’ve got your standard bar area, but down the back is a great room with grand windows looking out onto the lively Joaquín Costa, a regularly updated art exhibition adorning the walls, and snug couches to collapse into. This electric space is a great venue which has played host to a long list of different exciting events from markets to electronic music workshops. During the day it would even work well as a café space akin to Cosmo, although I’m more of a night-owl visitor myself. Even when there’s nothing specific going on, it’s one of my favourite places to grab a drink, check out the art and enjoy some good chats.
The thing that I love most about this spot is the music. I have heard so many amazing tracks played here, ever-so-subtly, but just loud enough to set the perfect tone for me – usually in the vein of beautifully chilled electronic stuff akin to Bonobo and Boards of Canada, but a whole range of other more eclectic stuff too.
Also to note: drinks and snacks are great here, really well done and definitely worth sampling.
