Gràcia is one of the most popular zones in Barcelona. As you may have heard magical things can happen in Gràcia: making new friends, unforgettable meals, or your best ever mojito while sitting on the floor listening to someone playing the guitar. That’s probably why it’s a very popular meeting point for friends.
Gràcia is probably the place with most street life during the day and night all throughout the year. Every Friday I meet my friends there to spend the night talking and eating something. You can find cheap places to eat, either on a terrace with a beer or just enjoying the atmosphere on the street. There are always professional street musicians or just somebody with a guitar playing some music.
Gràcia is also very popular for its local parties, where the neighbors decorate the street with amazing looks. (Check this link to see some pictures.) Even if you are in the city and there’s no local party, you can still take the opportunity to stroll through the charming, cosy and cheerful streets; I love it.
The most popular square is ‘Sol’ with plenty of good vibes from the people there. Great, cheap and varied restaurants and great musical bars too. A separate mention is required for my favourite bar / restaurant ‘Sol de nit’. I absolutely love the ‘huevos estrellados (french fries with egg and red jam or sausage, all mashed together), breaded fried chicken and their incredible nachos.
