If you’re into craft beer, then get yourself here! La Cerveseria Artesana, which opened its doors in 1996, has the honour of being the first microbrewery to open in Barcelona. They make their own craft beer on site. And, you’ll see the giant coppers which they use to produce their homemade beer behind glass walls in the bar.
It is a spacious bar located at the bottom end of Gràcia, not far from the top of Passeig de Gràcia.
They produce more than 10 blends of beer, and my favourite is their IPA, but they also have some exquisite rarities such as Boletus – beer crafted from mushrooms. You can also choose from more than 100 draft or bottled beers. And, they serve beers suitable for celiacs.
The staff here are very friendly and helpful, and they will take time to tell you which beers they have and recommend you a blend of beer they think you’ll enjoy. They show a lot of enthusiasm for everything to do with good beer.
They also offer a tour that includes a final cata or tasting– but it’s only available in Spanish/Catalan.
And, they also promote free live music concerts on Tuesday nights, so you could enjoy a pint of craft beer along with a blues gig.
This is a brewery which, since I brought my friends here once, we now visit it as one of the few places where we prefer to have a quality crafted beer on a weekend night.
