La Parra – Cañas, cavas, vermuts, vinos & ostras

Like oysters? Yes? Me too. Enjoy a glass of chilled cava? Me too.

Like friendly, old style, neighbourhood bar-bodegas? Me too. Who doesn’t?

Like friendly, old style, neighbourhood bar-bodegas which serve oysters and which happen to be situated within 100 meters of a very interesting visitor site? Thought you might.

Yes, for just €6.85 you can enjoy a glass of cava, vermut, wine or beer and two oysters at La Parra, a friendly, old style neighbourhood bar-bodega, situated very near the entrance to Sant Pau Recinte Modernista.

La Parra also serves generous plates of jamón, cheeses and embotits (cold cuts) as well as anchoas (anchovies), mejillones (mussels) and other conservas, at very reasonable prices in a friendly, old style ambience. They also serve hot and cold sandwiches.

It’s a very good place to enjoy a pre-lunch aperitivo or a late afternoon snack. Their house vermut at 2.10€ a glass is good, their cava—at 1.95€ a glass is good.

No wi-fi, but a pleasant, relaxed ambience.

If you haven’t already visited Sant Pau then you must make time, sometime, to do so—fascinating place.

And, if you haven’t already discovered La Parra, well, you’re missing out on an experience which may not survive many more years. La Parra is a good place to chill and reflect after visiting Sant Pau. And, when you’ve done chilling and reflecting, and need to wend a way back to where you’re staying, or visit another site on your list, then you’re only 100 meters or so from the Metro (L5-Blue).
