Mercat de Sant Antoni – Food, clothes, books

The first thing that comes to mind about el Mercat de Sant Antoni is history. I can see myself as a child going with my mom and grandma to buy fresh food, clothes for school, textiles and on Sunday all the books, trading cards or comics and second-hand things.

Now, after 11 years of remodeling, the market looks even more stunning than when I was a kid; more modern but having kept its typical antique soul.

It is really well distributed: in the heart and the middle of the market you will find the best quality fresh food ever all week and on specific days you will see all clothing, accessories and textiles on the periphery within the market. Moreover, on Sunday there are lots of cozy book stands, all kinds of old & new collections, postcards, stamps, magazines, cards, games, films, etc.

The quality of the fresh food is unbeatable; the textiles & clothes are amazing and the vintage Sunday with books and others is charming, but at the end, what makes el Mercat de Sant Antoni special is the feeling of being there, walking over all the market’s history and story and this, my dear friends, is inexplicable with words.

So what are you waiting for to go and really feel it?

Peace & smile.
