When I first came to Barcelona to visit, I was 15 and madly into skateboarding. Barcelona is a perfect place for it, with the outdoor lifestyle and loads of perfect spots to skate. I still am in love with skating, I’m always watching videos or cruising around the place. If I need to get my fix at night, or if I just want to go to an alternative venue and chill, I go to Nevermind.
Dripping with alternative and punk ethos, Nevermind has loud rock/punk/metal tunes, clientele covered in piercings and tattoos, skate videos playing on the TV screens around the bar, furniture made out of old boards, and even a bowl in the back. During the day this bowl is open to skate, but at night some benches are hung from it so you can get drunk and eat popcorn while lying in a skate spot. With beers at € 1.50 during happy hour and popcorn at € 0 always, these things are easily done.
So, if Barcelona is one of the skate capitals of the world, and Nevermind Raval is a bar devoted to skateboarding, just a stone’s throw from world-famous skate spot MACBA, and you happen to be a fan of skating, then you know what to do. If not, there’s a foosball table too.
