La Boqueria is the most popular market in Barcelona, with plenty of colours and incredibly good looking vegetables, fruit, meat, fish and several kinds of sausages.
It is quite expensive compared to other markets because of how touristy La boqueria has become. That being said, a part of that expensiveness is also thanks to the quality of the food. It’s the best you can find in the city, my family buys food for the Christmas meals here, so you can just imagine…
Inside the boqueria you’ll find Pinotxo which is the most crowded bar in the market. Pinotxo has earned this reputation due to their typical, tasty Catalan dishes and the good atmosphere offered at the counter of the bar. They mix a little bit of the craziness with great vibes.
At Pinotxo you can eat different kinds of Catalan homemade dishes, from meat to seafood, omelettes, tripe, head & leg, beef stew, chickpeas, cockles, gazpacho, to prawns and much more. Pinotxo is also popular because of their ‘Xuxos’, a puff pastry filled with cream, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. If you like it so much, let me know and I will tell you which bakery Pinotxo orders this sweet thing from.
Peace & enjoy!
