Calle Parlament is famous amongst locals. The street in the upcoming area of Sant Antoni is beyond popular. It has a very local vibe and is full of trendy brunch places. Most famous is Federal Cafe, featured in many travel guides for the hipster Australian look of this bar.
True, Federal is a nice place. But for me it’s not worth the queues on the weekend, as Parlament has many other places to discover. I came across Taranna and it was love at first sight. On a sunny autumn day I got a seat in the open window, which enabled me to overlook the lively street and Sant Antoni locals. A hipster parade passed by me, while enjoying a fresh fruity yogurt shake.
The staff at Taranna serves you with a broad smile and doesn’t hesitate to give their opinion on their own menu, recommending their favourites if you’d ask. They have a set menu, but also some daily specials that give a nice twist to typical brunch dishes. Don’t forget to check out the pastry in the window display next to the entrance… You wouldn’t want to miss out on their homemade cake!
