Al Makan is a hidden space in Beirut that has left its mark on a lot of open-minded, spiritual, and creative people. Personally, it is the only space in Beirut that I would call home besides my actual house.
As a cultural and spiritual hub, Al Makan is always full of activities and events that reflect its audience such as movie screenings, Poetry Nights, Let's Talk events and many more!
Whenever you enter Al Makan, you will be embraced with a welcoming vibe that just fills you with happiness. The beauty of this place is that it's part of an old residential building with its own garden, which makes it enchanting.
Each room at Al Makan has its own name, and Al Khan is the storeroom for this space where you can find local/ imported products to purchase. Always know that your items will be wrapped beautifully, because the founder of this space, Dr. Hiba Khodr, will always make sure this happens.
I won't spoil the other rooms for you, just make sure you come visit it and know that you won't be leaving this hub before a minimum of an hour... willingly.
