Why is this spot my favourite? Because basically it is Lebanon’s as well as the Middle East’s first zero- waste store that has opened recently as a tiny shop of local and recycled products in Hamra. Ecosouk has products from 35 eco-producers, locally made in Lebanon.
What can you find in this store? Zero-waste items that have been recycled into products that can be used in our daily lives. These range from soap, toothpaste, shampoo, body oils, handbags, outfits, plants, seeds, accessories, Himalayan salt lamps, chakra oils, laundry and washing ingredients etc. All of these are created by Lebanese makers themselves. Most are individuals, not necessarily big companies.
Customers are also encouraged to bring their own containers to prevent the use of plastic bags and to keep the eco-conscious idea alive in Lebanon.
I believe this spot is a must-see, since recycling in Lebanon has been something movements and individuals have been advocating for and still have hope that the Lebanese society will be eco-conscious one day.
I personally love the concept, the energy and the store as a whole! Plus you might want to see yourself wanting to purchase something useful from there 😉
