If you enjoy exploring tucked-away alleyways and watching craftspeople converse with onlookers while working outside of their shops, Burj Hamoud is the place for you – this is basically how I found Ghazar, a true Armenian hidden gem in between the streets of Burj Hammoud, a modest small bakery and restaurant that has been in the business since 1960 owned by Mr. Ghazar Ghazarian.
With tasty, super fresh, and most importantly very affordable Armenian food, you’ll find the friendliest staff serving the tastiest Lahm bi ajin and sujuk bi ajin you’ll ever try, as well as not forget about their yummy Simit bread, and the most delicious Manti you’ll ever taste, everything is so well made and flavorful that both my family and I fell in love with the food.
A must-try is their Tahinov Hatz or tahini bread, which is this sweet Armenian bread that has layers of sugar and tahini. The texture of these stuffed flatbreads is slightly crisp and flaky, with a hint of sweetness that you will seriously regret not trying.
