Liza is a former 19th-century palace turned into a restaurant on the 2nd floor consisting of five rooms: the Main room, the Banana room, the Money room, the Building room and the Elephant Room. It’s luxuriantly decorated in Idarica Gazzoni-designed wallpapers, Levantine tiles and golden lanterns.

The founders Liza and Ziad Asseily created a menu that reflects Lebanese cuisine with fresh ingredients, with a presentation there’s no better word to describe ut “lavishly perfect.”

My personal favorite room is the Elephant room because it only has two round tables next to the three arched windows leading to an extended window that overlooks parts of Achrafieh.

So if you are feeling fancy or want to have a special dinner or lunch, Liza is the restaurant to go to, as long as you have reserved ahead of time. A lot of people book it for weddings, engagements, and many other events. Usually, the Elephant Room is more densely booked than the others, so make sure you mention which room you would want to be seated in.
