Just across the streets from the famous Saint Nicolas church, the Restos Saint Nicolas comprise a new food cluster within the area of Ashrafieh.
Recently opened, in late November 2017, within walking distance from Martyr’s square, this cluster gathers a wide variety of different cuisines: from Lebanese restaurants and cafés, to an American diner, French-inspired restaurant and a boulangerie. Also, a new rooftop pub-restaurant opened its doors to the public recently.
Within the cluster, you can enjoy an outdoor private seated area, enjoy the sun during the day and the breeze at night.
Even though it is super close to all the chaos by the cars and traffic, once you step inside the location and walk into the central plaza, you will be transferred to a whole different area.
On an architectural heritage level, this location used to be an 130-year-old Lebanese house. However, the remains of the house were preserved and renovated by the designers, as you will see on the other side of the plot.
It reminds me of old Lebanese neighborhoods where you walk around on a narrow green pedestrian street.
I love it for its design, the atmosphere and certainly for the wide variety of cuisines available in one place.
