Today I discovered a new spot! Or actually I was passing by it for a while, saying to myself that I had to try it. And today I did finally! The Coffee room is a cute tiny coffee shop hidden on the St. Nicolas’ stairs (check out the article).
The St. Nicolas’s stairs are already charming by themselves, and discovering this veiled beauty was a cherry on top of my afternoon walk. The sign hanging over the entrance indicates the location. You’ll enter a cozy city garden of an old Lebanese house with stone walls and wooden shutters painted green. The garden is relatively small but filled with greenery.
Some of the walls outside and even some indoors are decorated with graffiti and street art. The decoration is outstanding, I would call it even avant-garde. I loved the contrast of the semi-destroyed stone walls with rococo portraits hanging on them. The overall feeling is very homy and relaxing, you don’t notice how time passes while you are enjoying your cappuccino.
It is the perfect place for a breakfast or snack — they serve sandwiches, salads, smoothies, cakes and cookies. I tried the avocado toast and strawberry cheesecake and both were yummyyy. The staff is extremely friendly, they didn’t even mind my four-year-old twins playing hide and seek in the “jungle” of the garden plants.
