Finding good street food, if you don’t eat meat in Belgrade, can get tricky. That’s why when I discovered Furuna for the first time I was thrilled! I’m a simple man when it comes to food, I always choose the basic option with just a few ingredients – if pizza is on the menu I get Margherita, if I’m visiting a Lebanese bakery then I go for Zaatar Manakeesh and I never leave disappointed.

This Lebanese bakery was opened by a Serbian-Lebanese couple, and the staff is always super pleasant – another reason I like stopping by. As the bakery is located near Tašmajdan Park, my suggestion would be to grab what your heart desires at Furuna, and head to Tašmajdan to find a bench and enjoy your meal in peace, possibly with a view of the church of St Mark’s, one of the most beautiful churches in the city in my opinion (it’s the red bricks!).

I’ve always had a weak spot for Beirut and Middle Eastern food, so liking this spot is no surprise. If you are also a fan and are feeling peckish, make sure you pass by Furuna. Just a heads up—they only take cash.
