Gospođa Mirkov is the name of an imaginary, honey-tongued lady, and a brand behind which the puffiest pastry in Belgrade is made, complete with dedication and using high quality ingredients. Nina, the owner, doesn’t have a family tradition in pastry, but ever since she can remember herself she’s nurtured an extensive passion for cooking and fine dining. During the years, she has been holding workshops about diverse aspects of cake-making, until in 2017 she found a perfect place for her very own Paris-inspired home: on the edge of the spacious Zemun park oasis.
You will meet all kinds of people at Gospodja Mirkov, hungry for the luxurious tender tastes; you will also always find fresh flowers on the tables, while the smell of soon-to-be baked delicacies fills the room. There is sadly only one sitting spot on the inside, although during the warmer days you can enjoy your sweets in the small garden (keep in mind: here people quickly leave their plates and tables empty). The river bank is rather close to Gospođa Mirkov so you can order a take-away cake and enjoy it on the coast of the Danube.
As a true admirer of creams and nuts, I recommend Paris Brest with hazelnut filling; coffee aside. I dare you not to try something else as well! The coffee is a must.
