The best part of moving to another part of the city is all the spots you never noticed while you were just passing by that area, rather than living there. That was the case for me and this mural. It sits on the sidewall of one of the three identical buildings that are all connected by a ground structure in Dušanovac (those buildings are just another story waiting to be told).
Belgrade has a lot of great murals, but somehow those that are not in the city center or in close proximity to it don’t really get much attention. And some of them really should. A 15 minute bus ride from the city center on the bus number 31/or 17 if you’re coming from Zemun and New Belgrade area will leave you just 50 meters from the mural.
Soaking in water smoking a cigarette – looks much better on a yellow wall in Dušanovac.
And his (twin?) brother is not so far away from it, check out Falling asleep in Dušanovac!
