Auto museum – Muzej automobila — is one of the places which are unfairly outside the public attention. Maybe in other cities car museums are bigger and better equipped but we must respect the enthusiasm of one man, Bratislav Petkovic, the collection owner. Since the museum has an excellent website I will not write much about it, I just have to underline that it is in the city center, for those who don’t want to venture out, in Majke Jevrosime street, so you can easily visit it.
There is an interesting story about Belgrade Grand Prix, which was held just before WWII, below Kalemegdan, and how the participants were the world’s best drivers. And after I read it, it crossed my mind how we crave Europe’s attention with the same ardor, now as well as 80 years ago.
If you are walking through the city center, I think it is a good break to see something old but of great quality. If you ask me, true aristocrats even today drive old cars, such as Mercedes-Benz – 300c Cabriolet, Germany, 1955.
